The company
Marmolada Srl is a private limited company founded in 1965 with the aim of building and operating the lift
systems that run to the summit of the Marmolada.
Facilities
Three impressive segments of the cable car lift go up the mountain from the Malga Ciapèla resort (at
1450m), stopping at the intermediate stations at Coston d’Antermoja (2350m), Serauta (2950m) and
continuing all the way to the summit station at Punta Rocca (3265m), which is right in front of Punta Penìa,
the highest peak in the Dolomites (3342 m), where you can clearly see the large cross that dominates the
point.
The Marmolada
The Marmolada is the highest mountain in the Dolomites whose highest point is the Punta Penia (3343m).
Geographically located between the provinces of Belluno and Trento, it possesses a majestic southern face
– a challenge for even the bravest of mountaineers – and, on the northern side, its famous glacier, the
largest in the Dolomites and a magnet in every season for climbers and skiers from all over the world. The
starting point for the summit is the Malga Ciapèla in the Val Pettorina, some 10 km from the locality of Rocca
Pietore (BL), once a grazing area for the neighbouring villages and today a charming tourist resort.
