Saturday 1 – Sunday 2 August 2026
History comes to life again at 3,000 metres, in the very place where it actually happened. On 1 and 2 August 2026, re-enactors in period uniforms, both Italian and Austro-Hungarian, will ascend the Marmolada to transform the Great War Museum into an immersive and unforgettable experience.
The first day is dedicated to the re-enactors’ arrival at high altitude with a flag-raising ceremony, followed by practical demonstrations of life in the trenches: how the soldiers lived, ate and endured amidst ice and rock. On the second day, there will be a special guided tour of the Museum. Please note that this must be booked well in advance.
